Kevin J. Mattson, President
Kevin J. Mattson is a graduate of Skidmore College and received an MBA from the University of Maine. He previously was Chief of Staff to the Majority Leader of the Maine House and Executive Director of the Maine Democratic Party.
In 1997, he entered the real estate development field, founding a company called Harper’s Development. In 2007, due to the overwhelming success of several large-scale projects, he reorganized the company and rechristened it Mattson Development. Today, Mattson’s commercial portfolio includes properties well in excess of one million square feet.
Mattson has a strong track record of infusing his developments with an affinity for historical significance, and commitment to sustainable development, renewable energy and green technologies.
Severin M. Beliveau, Chief Executive Officer
Severin M. Beliveau is one of Maine’s best-known attorneys, and has significant experience in legislative and regulatory issues. He is a Founding Partner of Preti Flaherty (www.preti.com) and directs the firm’s Legislative and Regulatory practice in Augusta and Washington, D.C. His practice also involves public issues, environmental projects and international trade.
In 2008 Beliveau received the French Legion of Honor Award, the highest distinction France awards civilians, for his leadership on key projects to improve the relationship between Maine and France. He is a former State senator and State representative, and a former Chairman of the Democratic State Committee. During his last two years as chairman, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee.
Adam Mattson – Chief Analytics Officer
Adam Mattson is the Chief Analytics Officer for Mattson, specializing primarily in quantitative cash flow analysis for use in current and prospective deals. Through powerful and proprietary financial modeling tools, some of which he created, Adam is able to weigh each variable of a proposed project in order to determine its efficacy and future value. He holds an economics degree from the University of Southern Maine
William E. Dowling – Chief Development Officer
The former Mayor of Augusta, Maine, William (Bill) Dowling oversees daily operations. He negotiates leases, awards bids to contractors, solicits new tenants, ensures operating costs are within budgets. Bill is adept at presenting projects to local planning boards for approval, and ensuring that all necessary permits required for various projects are awarded. Highly regarded for his down to earth manner and unshakeable common sense, Maine’s Gov. Paul LePage selected Bill to serve on his transition team in 2010, helping to select the various candidates for the Governor’s cabinet.
Peter McPherson – Director, Construction Services
Peter McPherson is the construction manager for Mattson, with 35 years of construction experience and 25 years as a Superintendant for several large general contractors in central Maine on many multi-million dollar projects. Pete is certified by the State of Maine as a Third Party Inspector in all seven categories of the Maine Uniform Building And Energy Code. He oversees most Mattson construction projects, acting as superintendent, project manager and estimator. Pete stays absolutely current, through continuing education efforts, on important developments in energy efficiency, radon mitigation, land use, shoreland zoning, lead removal, subdivision law and building codes.
Cullen Fletcher – Director, Asset Management
Cullen Fletcher brings more than 20 years of experience in customer service and management to Mattson. Formerly a property manager for Mattson’s southern Maine operation, Cullen’s current role is to work closely with property managers to identify areas to control costs and maximize profits.
Curt Fletcher – Developer’s Representative
Curt Fletcher brings more than 20 years of finance and marketing experience to Mattson. His experience includes investment data consulting with Wall Street firms at Interactive Data, product management with an internet startup, and hedge fund accounting at Citigroup. He has also owned and operated his own small business. Currently, Curt is the Developer’s Representative for Saco Island, a $100 million development in Saco, Maine. Curt has a BS in Business Economics from Bentley University and an MBA from Northeastern University.
Drew Morris – Director, Communications
Drew Morris brings several years of journalism, public relations and marketing experience to his role as Communications Director for Mattson Development. A graduate of Northeastern University’s journalism school in Boston, Drew wrote for the Kennebec Journal in Augusta, Maine, before working for one of the largest public relations firms in Denver, Colo. He gained additional marketing experience as president and founder of an internet-based advertising site.
